Sgeama Greis Gnìomhachas nan Oileanach During the summer months, two local students have been employed by Comann Eachdraidh Bharabhais agus Bhrù with the help of Comann na Gàidhlig’s placement scheme ‘Sgeama Greis Gnìomhachas nan Oileanach.’ They are Colin George Morrison, 40 Lower Barvas and Niall Bartlett, 20 Brue. Both are 2nd year university students, fluent Gaelic speakers and the grandsons of prominent local businessmen of their day. In this year of Scotland’s national ‘Homecoming’ the Comann Eachdraidh would be grateful if local people could assist them as they work out and about in the community recording and researching our local history. Please feel free to offer them information, pictures and other materials for recording/copying which they will return to you.
